In the new millennium, we are witnessing a paradigm shift in legal education and pedagogy, reminiscent of Lord Alfred Tennyson's epigram, “Old order changeth, yielding place to new”. The advent of the forces of Liberalization, globalization and homogenization of the international commune has spawned demands and posed challenges to the status quo of systems and practices; ergo, it is opportune to relinquish our stereotypical notions of the Law, the State and Governance in an Austinian tradition, and to aim for the proverbial 'Brave New World' of equity and justice.
It is my conviction that the calibre of graduates from NALSAR is distinguishable and manifests itself in their adherence to discipline, substantial legal acumen, determination and above all, their commitment to the institution that enlists their services. I sincerely believe that the Class of 2010 derives its potency from its dedication to excellence in the academic realm and beyond, and its expansive outlook towards scholastic pursuits, which is evidenced in the achievements by, and accolades lauded upon them.
We, at NALSAR, perceive perfection as a target in motion, elusive in all attempts at being struck. As a consequence, despite the fact that with the dedication, co-operation and commitment of the faculty, the students and the staff, achievement of the status of the premier law school in India has already been achieved by us, we comprehend past laurels and achievements not as meant to be rested upon, but as mere stepping stones for taking further leaps towards higher pedestals of excellence. I therefore invite you, recruiters in India and beyond to approach the Class of 2010 for consideration as prospective employees, with the confidence that their prolific skill-set would suffice the requirements of recruiters of every ilk.
